After clearing the decks and chipping off the usual commitments, I managed to get a session booked in with The English National Ballet rehearsing their new Swashbuckling Pirate drama, 'Le Corsaire' before it's opening night in Milton Keynes. It's been a while since I was down the ballet and hence it took not only a while for my eyes to open up to the dark but to get my head calibrated for the timing involved. As a known and trusted shooter I was again granted a little preferential access to the back stage and wings. It'd been a while, but amongst saying hello to the usual dancers that I know quite well there were quite a few new faces to introduce myself to including Tamara Rojo, the new Principle and Creative Director.
